The executive of United Technologies Corporation
stock, Marc Duvall said “After being part of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner
journey from concept to production for the past 10 years, we're gratified
Boeing has selected us to continue the next leg with them.” The company
believes that its excellent work previously for Boeing has open gates to many
opportunities in the future which will be beneficial and profitable for them. The
787-10 jet is said to be the largest jet which will be about 225 feet long
having a range of 7,000 nautical miles. This jet is able to carry of 323
passengers. Moreover, Boeing believes that 787-10 is more fuel efficient than
any other jets out there.
However, the manufacturing of the Boeing 787-10 will
be done in North Charleston instead of Everett because of its massive size. Due
to the massive size, it will be a difficult task to carry from Everett to North
Charleston hence it is assembled near North Charleston Airport. The
manufacturing and designing will begin in 2017. Due to these large projects and
acquisitions, the company has managed to be ahead of its competitors in the
industry over the years.
