Verizon communication or Verizon is basically a local American broadband telecommunication company, which recently is operating at least 63 million telephone lines in 40 states of America. This makes it the largest telephone company of United States. The company was founded in June 2000, and it soon gained ground and became the largest telephone company of the country. Not only has this but the company also inherited more than 25 million mobile phone customers, which again is a big achievement of the company in a very short period of time. When the name of the company was selected as Verizon, it invested a huge amount of $300 million only on marketing of its new brand.
Verizon was first founded as Bell Atlantic, which later on converted to Verizon. However, the company has also released its wireless phones branch which is known as Verizon Wireless, which is in constant competition with British based telecommunication company Vodafone but still Verizon Wireless is the leading company with 55 percent of the venture. Verizon wireless has provided access to partner sites to its customers like Amazon.com, ABC news, ESPN, MSN, Ticketmaster, and E-Trade.
The revenue generated by the company in 2013 was equal to $120.550 billion, its net income was $23.547 and total assets were $274.098. The stock graph of Verizon can be seen increasing continuously, whereas, Verizon today’s stock price varies from $47.26 to $47.36. The stock symbol of Verizon is VZ and it trades under NYSE. According to some VZ stock news analysis it can be stated that its graph will further increase in future.
